Students worldwide use Perlego’s annotation features to capture information from books. We wanted to take this experience one step further and help users synthesise their thoughts. User research was at the heart of the project, from the initial validation of the idea to shipping improvements after the launch. For the UI, I took inspiration from the simplicity of traditional paper notebooks and combined it with the digital capabilities of modern note-taking tools. The interface is designed to help users focus, engage and use book annotations to stimulate their next big idea.
